DUBAI, Dr. Hanif Hassan Al Qassim, Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue, said that values and principles of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, are a shining light for the future generations.
“Although years have passed since the death of Sheikh Zayed, his presence is still felt in the hearts of Emiratis,” he said in a statement on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on 19th Ramadan.
Al Qassim said that Sheikh Zayed was not only a founding leader, but a man who is distinguished by giving to all people and communities across the world without any discrimination.
He pointed out that the ‘Year of Tolerance’ announced by the UAE this year is a continuation of the approach of Sheikh Zayed, who laid the foundations of the culture of coexistence and peace among human beings, highlighting the UAE leadership’s keenness to embody these principles.
He added that strengthening the multicultural approach affirms the UAE’s efforts to continue the cultural approach initiated by the Founding Father since the inception of the UAE Union.
