Youth enterprise council launched to strengthen insurance sector

ABU DHABI — A platform for promoting initiatives and enterprises launched by UAE youth has been formed by the UAE Insurance Authority to hone the leadership and decision-making skills of young segments of society.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, has said the formation of a council for the promotion of projects created by UAE youth is aligned with the directives of the wise leadership of the country to empower youth, and comes as an effective enabler for the sustainable development drive in the country as part of the UAE Vision 2021.

The minister, who is also the Board Chairman of the Insurance Authority, added that the newly formed council aims to tap the potential of the UAE youth and boost their contributions to the development drive in the country, noting that new channels of coordination will be launched with the Emirates Youth Council which is entrusted with the youth empowerment strategy in unison with the government plan.

“Youth is a cornerstone of the sustainable development strategy adopted by the UAE government and we are keen to further boost their contributions to the UAE Vision 2021 ‘s National Agenda,” the minister added.

The UAE youth boast robust potential that would enable the Insurance Authority to reach the ambitious set targets to develop a competitive insurance sector, the minister noted.
