UAE to participate in Gulf Municipal Works Conference in Kuwait

FUJAIRAH, The UAE will participate in the 11th Gulf Municipal Works Conference, which will be hosted by Kuwait from 10th to 12th May, under the title ‘Smart Municipality: Services, Control, Application’.

The Emirati delegation will be led by Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Director-General of the Fujairah Municipality, and will include a number of officials and specialists from The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE), as well as municipalities of the state.

The conference aims to discuss ways of developing municipal work and review new experiences that seek to advance the joint municipal work of the Arab Gulf states. It also addresses three main topics: best global uses of geographic information systems (GIS); best practices for hygiene contracts and control; and voluntary work in the field of municipal work.

Through these themes, the state delegation will examine a set of working papers that reflect the experiences of UAE municipalities in a range of developmental projects that support municipal work.

During the conference, a number of Gulf leaders who have effectively contributed to the municipal work process in the GCC countries will be honoured.
