UAE making strenuous efforts to combat cholera in number of Yemeni governorates

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and the World Health Organisation in Yemen, along with the Yemen Ministry of Public Health and Population, are working hard to contain a second wave of cholera, which has been spreading across 18 Yemeni governorates.

The first wave of the disease was spread in September 2016, with around 23,425 suspected cases, and new cases were estimated to number 301 between April 27th to May 18th, according to World Health Organisation statistics.

The ERC will provide pandemic containment and deliver it in the form of intravenous solutions and laboratory materials.
