The inaugural UAE Triathlon Federation league kicks off at Hudayriat Island in Abu Dhabi

The UAE Triathlon Federation launched a unique eight-race league providing both the Emiratis and the expatriate community a chance to compete under the UAE flag.

The top five triathletes in each race will earn ranking points that will serve as a select criteria to represent the UAE at international competitions.

Abdulla Al Fahim, President of the UAE Triathlon Federation, described the league as an ambitious plan that will encourage the Emiratis as well as the expatriates to compete against each other and take their game to the next level.

“It means better participation and stronger competition,” Al Fahim said at the media briefing at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council Headquarters on Tuesday.

“This obviously is the first year of the league and I believe it to improve, get bigger and stronger, every passing year.”
