Council Membership
We welcomed Ben Snowdon as a new Council Member representing Cumberland County FA. Ben replaces Fred Conway who sadly passed away in late 2022.
Refereeing Strategy
Our Director of Professional Game Operations, Andy Ambler, Head of Referee Operations, Peter Elsworth, and Head of Technical & Referee Development, Daniel Meeson, presented on our new Refereeing Strategy for 2023-2026. As part of the new strategy, we will aim to improve the experience of being a referee; enhance the diversity of our referee population and maximise the potential of our referees through development opportunities.
The FA Group Report & Financial Statements for 2021/22
Our Deputy CEO, Mark Burrows, provided an overview of the organisation’s financial position, focussing in particular on the future financial outlook as we head into a period of uncertainty on future costs and revenue, and look to build a cash reserve to protect against any future financial shocks.
Council Review
We are currently reviewing the role and purpose of the Council and the Royal Navy’s Steve Johnson presented on progress with this while noting the rationale for the review, the principles and scope, and opportunities to engage with all Council Members as we proceed.
