ABU DHABI, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), received Sheikhas, women ministers, leading businesswomen and other women well-wishers at Al Bahr Palace on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr on Tuesday.
The guests conveyed Eid greetings to Sheikha Fatima, wished her a long life and praised her efforts to empower Emirati women.
They also expressed their pride in Sheikha Fatima for her humanitarian works, both inside and outside the UAE, which support women and children in many countries, including among the Rohingya refugees.
She also launched the The Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Volunteering Programme, which offers free treatment to tens of thousands of patients through its hospitals and health centres in 20 African and Asian countries.
The guests also said that Sheikha Fatima stands solidly behind women and has empowered them to fulfil their role in realising the country’s comprehensive development, thanks to the support from the UAE’s leadership.
