SEWA completes pumping station and water lines in Kalba

SHARJAH, The Kalba Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed a pumping station and extension of water lines at a cost of AED 27 million to feed a number of development and tourism projects in Kalba, including feeding Al Hafiya Lake, the industrial and commercial zone, and the rest of the Al Ghayl Dam, in implementation of the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Moza Al Zaabi, Director of the Kalba Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, explained that Kalba city is witnessing an urban and civil renaissance and a state of recovery, supported by a strong infrastructure. SEWA is working to keep pace with this renaissance and provide all electricity and water services for development and tourism projects.

She pointed out that the completed project included the extension of water lines with a diameter of 400 mm, with a length of 4 km, to feed Al Hafiya Lake, of the quality of carbon steel with high specifications, and the construction of a ground water tank with a capacity of half a million gallons, in addition to five high-quality and efficient pumps in cooperation with one of the major international companies. The capacity of each pump is 660 m3/h to meet the needs of the future region.
