DUBAI, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), today received Markéta Pekarová, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, and her delegation at Expo 2020 Dubai.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed various issues of mutual concern and ways of reinforcing their parliamentary diplomacy by organising mutual visits and advancing their coordination.
Ghobash highlighted the FNC’s keenness to follow the country’s approach and visions regarding many issues, most notably promoting peace, security and stability in the region and developing its cooperation with various parliaments and parliamentary associations worldwide.
Both sides then stressed that the bilateral ties between their countries have witnessed significant improvement, especially after the signing of an economic, commercial and technical cooperation agreement in January 2022.
They then highlighted the importance of reinforcing parliamentary cooperation between the FNC and the Czech Chamber of Deputies and the key role of parliaments in promoting cooperation.
Pekarová affirmed the importance of the deep-rooted ties between the two friendly countries and their ongoing coordination in many areas, most notably their parliamentary relations.
She also commended the UAE’s successful organisation of Expo 2020 Dubai, noting that the Czech pavilion embodies her country’s approach to promoting the use of technologies and innovations to help people live better lives.
