PREMIER LEAGUE AND EFL CHAMPIONSHIP CLUBS JOIN THE EMIRATES FA CUP FOR 2022-23

The Emirates FA Cup third round proper draw was made on Monday evening, as clubs from the Premier League and EFL Championship join the 2022-23 edition at this stage.

With 32 ties drawn out, there’s plenty to get excited about ahead of the third round proper weekend across Friday 6 January through to Monday 9 January.

Current FA Cup holders Liverpool will start their defence against Wolverhampton Wanderers at home while there are also four other all top-flight games between Manchester City and Chelsea, Brentford and West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Southampton and Manchester United taking on Everton.

For the remaining non-League clubs in the draw, Wrexham face a trip to take on Championship side Coventry City, Boreham Wood will host Accrington Stanley and Dagenham & Redbridge have the carrot of a home tie against Leicester City should they win their second-round replay against Gillingham.

Winning teams at the third round stage will also collect £105,000 from the competition’s prize fund.

Details of the full third round schedule will be confirmed in due course following discussions with clubs, broadcasters and local authorities.
