ABU DHABI, The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship made a welcome return to the Jiu-Jitsu Arena at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi on Friday with intense competitions and a thundering crowd. One of the many attractions at the Arena was the Fitness District, which offered a variety of exciting activities for fans, kids, and their families.
The Fitness District was bustling as soon as the event opened its doors, with participants and their families making their way to the designated area to soak themselves in the festive atmosphere. The district, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, provided options for everyone who stepped foot inside, including kids sections, fitness zones, and food and beverage choices.
The mobile food trucks are one of the catches of the Fitness District, which offers a variety of dishes. Food enthusiasts have shown a keen desire to taste the diverse offerings.
The Heritage Corner in the District include an Arabic coffee stand, falconry, Arabic calligraphy, and henna. It witnessed a great turnout from the masses eager to learn about the UAE’s heritage. The booth allowed kids to get their pictures clicked with a falcon in their hands.
Fatima Nairoukh, a Jordanian who took pictures of her son Jaber Khasseb holding a falcon, was one of the many people that crowded the booth. She was visibly excited with the surroundings and all the amazing things on offer at the District.
“This fitness district is incredibly beneficial, especially for kids,” she said adding: “My son is participating in the tournament, so this is a place where he can relax and have fun before the competition,” she continued.
The calligraphy artist, Saeed Alameri, who is writing the guests’ names in Arabic, said he is receiving a lot of nice feedback because many of the visitors want their names to be inscribed on the card they will keep as a souvenir of the championship.
The district also featured a mini obstacle racecourse where kids could take on tasks like scaling barriers to test their physical and mental strength. This is one of the most sought-after attractions among the kids at the zone.

The UAEJJ fitness center’s are at the district includes a range of the latest sports equipment such as the “Combo Bag” that lets visitors try out various punches and an “Assault Bike” that allows people try their luck with a challenging workout.
One of the most innovative features offered at the Arena is the “Champions Stage,” which enables tournament attendees, particularly the kids, to take souvenir photos with their families that capture their achievements in the competition.
