PM discusses procedures to facilitate importing drugs

Coordination is in full swing between all ministries, bodies concerned and senior officials of the Central Bank to meet the medical sector’s needs through the Unified Procurement Strategy, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Sunday.

A workgroup was formed to help overcome any related obstacle, the premier added during a meeting held to mull the measures needed to facilitate importing medical requirements.

Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Chairman of Egyptian Drug Authority Tamer Essam, and Mona Nasser, assistant minister for follow-up and management of customs development project attended the meeting.

The participants reviewed steps needed to deal with the unified national platform for foreign trade and procedures related to issuing the letters of credit for importers of medical supplies.
