OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH THE FAMILY OF FA CUP HERO RONNIE RADFORD FOLLOWING HIS PASSING

The importance of his infamous long-range equaliser during one of the FA Cup’s most memorable ties in 1972 between Hereford United and Newcastle United cannot be understated.

Hereford became the first non-League club to defeat a top-flight side since 1949 when substitute Ricky George scored the winner in extra-time but it is Ronnie’s goal that has become almost synonymous with the giant-killings that make our competition unique.

While he will be dearly missed, this iconic goal will continue to inspire clubs at all levels to believe that anything is possible, and his contribution to the FA Cup will never be forgotten.
