NCEMA conducts ‘HazMat-12’ drill with participation of strategic partners

RAS AL KHAIMAH, The National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has conducted the HazMat-12 to assess the national preparedness in dealing with scenarios related to hazardous material incidents in Ras Al-Khaimah.

The drill aimed to achieve the strategic proactivity of the emergency crisis and disaster management community.

NCEMA aims to ensure the compatibility of roles and responsibilities of all participating authorities. It also emphasises the importance of national preparedness in responding to hazardous materials and CBRNe incidents in industrial areas in Ras Al-Khaimah. This will uphold national economic, social, and political gains and maintain the UAE’s regional and international reputation.

NCEMA noted that HazMat-12 seeks to unify concepts among the relevant authorities.

The drill is an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of national plans and how to lead and control such incidents. It was conducted with 24 federal and local entities and the private sector.
