ABU DHABI, 28th August, 2016 (WAM) — The Mubadala Development Company, Mubadala, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, ADSC, to strengthen and expand its community outreach programme.
The agreement includes the addition of two community cycling competitions in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, a long-distance running event, the expansion of the Mubadala Football Tournament, to be renamed as Mubadala Community Football League and the expansion of the Mubadala Community Tennis Cup season, which will now run for 3 weeks.
Speaking at the signing, Aref Al Awani, General Secretary of ADSC, said, “We are always keen to activate partnerships with governmental institutions, which contribute to strengthening the development of sports and the community. We look forward to working with our partners at Mubadala to build on the successes they have already achieved through their community engagement programme, by expanding this even further.”
Khaled Al Qubaisi, Group Chief Human Capital Officer and Community Wellbeing Ambassador at Mubadala, said, “Through our programmes and partnerships, our aim is not only to empower UAE nationals to realise opportunities in various business sectors which serve Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification, but also to support the development of a well-rounded generation.”
The MoU includes cooperation between Mubadala and ADSC in events covering tennis, football, cycling and long-distance running, mostly taking place at Zayed Sports City.
