Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation inaugurates Emirates Virtual Centre for International Peace

ABU DHABI, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) has launched the “Emirates Virtual Centre for International Peace”, a digital platform dedicated to producing strategic research on international peace and highlighting the UAE’s contributions to this field regionally and internationally.

The centre’s establishment aligns with the “Principles of the 50” launched by the UAE Government in September 2021, which outline an economic and developmental roadmap for the country’s future and reflect the UAE’s foreign policy approach based on peace, diplomacy, and dialogue.

The centre embraces the tenth principle, which states: “Calling for peace, harmony, negotiations and dialogue to resolve all disputes is the basis of the Emirates’ foreign policy. Striving with regional partners and global friends to establish regional and global peace and stability is a fundamental driver of our foreign policy.”

As part of its mandate, the centre will build strategic partnerships among governmental bodies and civil society entities while creating a platform to exchange ideas. Accordingly, it has signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance collaboration with various local and international institutions, including the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, Rabdan Academy, Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, and Emirates Policy Centre.

The centre will also produce studies on issues related to international peace and security and showcase the UAE’s efforts to bolster peace and prosperity worldwide.
