Houthi militias prevents government employees from being paid, says minister

ADEN, – Abdul Aziz Jabary, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Services of Yemen, said the Houthi and Saleh militias have prevented government employees from receiving their salaries at local banks and currency exchanges in those governorates which are still under their control.

The Yemeni News Agency quoted Jabary in a statement made today as saying the militias did not stop at only robbing the Central Bank and salaries of employees, along with the nation’s wealth, but also threatened currency exchanges and banks, saying they should not accept salaries for government employees.

The Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the government will continue issuing payments for government employees in all governorates, in accordance with the December 2014 employee records.
