Hasher Al Maktoum opens international equine trade fair

DUBAI, Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Information, on Wednesday opened Al Fares 2018, the oldest and most prominent international equine trade fair in the Middle East and North Africa region since 1995.

The 12th edition of Al Fares is taking place on 7th-9th November at the prestigious Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. Covering the entire spectrum of the equine industry, the event represents a renowned platform for the unveiling of an array of international products, services, equipment, and veterinary technology for everyone connected with the sport.

The exhibition, which takes place every two years, is one of the oldest fairs in Asia and Africa and specialises in the equine industry.

In addition to securing material to establish horse riding centres and other related maintenance products and services, it provides all the equipment needed in equestrian sports as well as food and medicine for horses. The event welcomes riders, owners, trainers, breeders, professionals, and equine industry experts and senior international knights. Al Fares illustrates the remarkable development of these sports in the UAE and displays the latest products and services for horses and riders.

At the fair, over 150 trademarks and exhibitors, including those from the United States, United Kingdom, Britain and Spain, will present a comprehensive range of products for horse breeding, the sport and equipment. This year’s exhibitor number grew by 10 percent as compared to 2016 event.

Organisers expect the three-day equine event to welcome more than 5,000 visitors.
