Foreign Ministry: Lebanese in UAE fully adhere to laws

NNA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the following statement on Friday:”After receiving information from the Embassy of Lebanon in the United Arab Emirates about the UAE authorities contacting a number of Lebanese families and asking them to leave the UAE, Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister, Gebran Bassil, informed Prime Minister Tammam Salam and the Council of Ministers about this preliminary information,” the statement read.”Minister Bassil conducted necessary contacts with concerned officials to inquire about this matter and contacted in this context UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” the statement added.”Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to confirm that it has endeavoured to re-cement Lebanese-UAE relations, and this has been demonstrated in the re-appointment of an ambassador to the emirates in Lebanon. All the discussions involving consular, diplomatic, and political problems have started and confirm that the Lebanese who are in the United Arab Emirates fully integrate within the UAE community and are committed to UAE laws,” the statement concluded.==============R.H.
