Fatima bint Mubarak underscores Family Development Foundation’s role in management, sustainability

ABU DHABI, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, GWU, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, FDF, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, confirmed that the foundation was keen to join Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group, ADSG, since 2011, given its important role in management and sustainability governance in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Her speech came as part of the foundation’s sustainability report, 2015. The report received A+ ranking according to the approval of the international organisation to prepare the sustainability report in Netherlands.

The foundation followed the highest standards of transparency by issuing the sustainability report, which is one of the requirements and conditions of accession to ADSG.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima added that the FDF is one of the first social institutions which took the initiative to meet the terms of membership and developed a sustainability plan consistent with the organisational strategy of the foundation.

“We had to meet the requirements that we were expected to implement and which enable the foundation to achieve the highest standards of excellence in sustainability and get the results, which confirm its commitment to responsibilities towards the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and to promoting the positives in reality as well as the adoption of the best international practices in sustainability management,” she said.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima pointed out that the foundation is fully aware what should be achieved every year and is strongly connected to its message and vision, in line with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.

According to her, recognising the important role played by the foundation greatly contributed to adopting correct and thoughtful policies, which helped deliver reliable results all the time. The positive outcome also reaffirms the foundation’s commitment to government policies in the emirate and its adherence to international standards.

Ali Salem Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of FDF, said in accordance with the vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima, the foundation is working for the benefit of the family by providing best services and programmes. The foundation was also very keen to achieve sustainability and consequently, it joined ADSG in 2011.
