Fatima bint Mubarak receives Argentinian Vice President

ABU DHABI, — H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, today held a meeting with Gabriela Michetti, Vice President of Argentina, during which they discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between women’s organisations in their respective countries.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima, who is also the Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, expressed her keenness to strengthen relations of UAE-based women’s organisations with their Argentinian counterparts to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, and technological and educational programmes for women.

During the meeting, which was held at the Sea Palace (Qasr Al Bahr), the Vice President of Argentina was briefed on the process of development and the achievements of women in the UAE, who have received the full support of the nation’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and continue to do so under the current leadership, who spare no effort in enabling Emirati women and furthering their development.

Ms. Michetti lauded Sheikha Fatima for the role she has played in the advancement of UAE women’s rights in all areas, her initiatives to support mothers and children, her efforts to protect young people, and bringing education to millions, both in the UAE and abroad.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor, and Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Among others present were Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, and Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs.
