ABU DHABI, 1st February, 2016 (WAM) – The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has intensified its response to the critical humanitarian conditions in Yemen through provision of more food aid to the victims of the unfolding developments in Yemen.
In a press statement, the ERC said that the assistance is part of the authority’s continued efforts to provide basic humanitarian needs and enhance food security in the most affected areas by the current crises.
Beneficiaries who received the food aid expressed their happiness at the gesture, extending thanks and appreciation to the UAE and its prudent leadership on taking a noble stance with regard to the victims in Yemen.
They also said that they felt the attention paid by the UAE for their humanitarian conditions. They also praised the distinguished programmes implemented by the ERC in Yemen in various development, health, educational, relief, fields as well as other basic services such as water and electricity supply.
ERC also continued its programmes to support the educational process in Yemen, and distributed schoolbags and other requirements to students in a number of schools in Al Mahrah Governorate. The statement also announced that the ERC is working to continue the academic year in Yemen despite the challenges.
