Empower to provide district cooling services to ‘Wasl Tower’

DUBAI, Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, Empower, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with wasl Asset Management Group, to provide 3,900 Refrigeration Tonnes, RT, district cooling services to Wasl Tower, a 300-metres-high tower consisting of 64 floors, that features one of the world’s tallest ceramic facades, and that includes offices, a hotel and residential units.

The tower, which is located on Sheikh Zayed Road, will be delivered by 2020.

Empower also announced that the project will be served from its district cooling plant in Business Bay, and that work to connect the building has already commenced, and will be delivered in the last quarter of 2019. The infrastructure for the district cooling system in the tower will connect the building to Empower’s cooling plants in Business Bay, on the opposite side of Wasl Tower. They will be linked through the construction of a network using state-of-the-art technology to connect pipes via a tunnel under Sheikh Zayed Road.
