EMIRATES FA CUP FOURTH ROUND QUALIFYING ROUND-UP: TEAMS SEAL SPOT IN MAIN DRAW

There were goals aplenty as the fourth and final round of Emirates FA Cup qualifying took place on a busy Saturday of action.

Arguably the biggest shock of the day saw Coalville Town of the Southern League Premier Division Central shock former champions and National League side Notts County to reach the first round.

Coalville led 2-1 at half-time with Tom McGlinchey and Ashley Chambers on the scoresheet for the visitors, netting either side of Sam Austin’s equaliser.

The tie looked set to head for a replay when Austin netted again for the hosts, though McGlinchey’s 87th minute winner was enough to fire the Ravens into the first round proper.

Elsewhere Chesterfield, who famously reached the semi-finals back in 1997, ended the run of Anstey Nomads with a comfortable 3-0 victory to seal their place in the hat.

In the televised kick-off, goals from Armando Dobra, Akwasi Asante and Kabongo Tshimanga helped guide the Spireites into the main draw and end what was a best ever run for the Nomads.

Blyth Spartans kept their quest for a first round spot alive with a last-gasp equaliser against National League opposition in the form of Wrexham.

Tom O’Connor’s 76th minute free-kick looked to have won the contest for the visitors, though another goal from a direct freekick – courtesy of Michael Richardson – saw the Spartans equalise in the 90th minute to force a replay.

Ninth-tier side Bury AFC saw their campaign come to an end after Mitch Hancox’s 86th-minute effort sealed a 2-1 victory for York City on the road.

Meanwhile, after reaching the fifth round last season, Boreham Wood once again secured their place in the main draw thanks to victory in a 5-3 thriller against Wealdstone at Meadow Park.

There was less drama for both Dagenham & Redbridge and Farnborough, who ran out 7-0 winners against Beckenham Town and Biggleswade Town respectively.

Halifax also ran out comfortable 3-0 victors against St. Ives Town, though fellow National League side Oldham find themselves in a replay following a 1-1 draw against sixth-tier side Chester – one of seven ties that will need a second match to decide who seals their place in the main draw.

Barnet comfortably secured their place in the first round thanks to a 3-0 win over Weston-super-Mare, while in an all-National League contest Ricky Korboa struck late as Woking edged out Southend in a 2-1 win.

Oxford City, Chelmsford City and Hereford were among the other teams to seal their place in the first round draw, which will take place on Monday.
