Draft decree on Foreign Service’s fees for services in 2023 sent out for comments

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs requests opinions on the draft Decree of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Fees for Services Produced by the Foreign Service in 2023. The consultation round will be open until 7 December 2022. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs proposes an increase of EUR 20 to the fee for the EU Emergency Travel Document (ETD) issued to EU citizens.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs proposes the enactment of a new Decree of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Fees for Services Produced by the Foreign Service. The decree that is now sent out for comments would enter into force on 1 January 2023. It would be largely similar to the existing decree.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs does not propose to increase any other fees, such as fees for passports and identity documents issued by missions abroad.

In addition, the Ministry proposes to include in the new decree some technical amendments that are necessary because of changes in legislation and certain other clarifications.

The request for opinions has been sent to a selected group. However, even others can submit opinions on the proposed amendments and on the explanatory memorandum.

Provisions on fees for services produced by the Foreign Service are laid down by a Decree of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, issued for a fixed period. The current Decree of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Fees for Services Produced by the Foreign Service in 2020–2022 (650/2020) entered into force on 1 September 2020 and remains in force until 31 December 2022.
