ADU appoints new Dean of College of Business

ABU DHABI, Abu Dhabi University, ADU, has named Professor Christopher Pitelis as the new Dean of the College of Business.

Professor Pitelis will build on the existing outstanding reputation of the College of Business, and work to ensure that ADU’s graduates are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in the activities and sectors of the future.

Speaking on the appointment, Dr. Waqar Ahmad, Chancellor of ADU, said, “As an ambitious College of Business with world leading professional accreditations, it is critical to ensure we have a world-class academician and leader at the helm. In Professor Chris Pitelis, we have found just such a leader.”

In turn, Professor Pitelis said, “Having worked at some of the world’s top business schools, I’m impressed both by the achievements and the potential of ADU’s College of Business. I will work closely with our faculty members, students, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the sustained advancement of the college. This is crucial to the development and growth of our students and their future careers, and will enable the college to support industry and public policy to foster sustainable international competitiveness and national prosperity.”

Pitelis completed a successful tenure as head of industry partnerships at the Cambridge Judge Business School in the University of Cambridge, and as professor of leading business schools at the University of Bath and in the UK, Europe and Australia, President of Hellenic Organisation of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, a nation-wide organisation supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises, and as Head of Business School at Brunel University London.
