Vietnamese Minister of Culture receives UAE Ambassador

HANOI, Vietnam’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, has received Obaid Saeed Al Dhaheri, the UAE Ambassador to Vietnam, and explored ways to enhance relations between the two countries in the tourist, cultural, and sports fields and work to boost them through signing legal frameworks of joint cooperation.

Al Dhaheri expressed the UAE’s desire to develop relations with Vietnam as a significant trade partner to the UAE, while highlighting the strong bilateral diplomatic ties based on mutual respect between the two countries.

He also wished more continuous and constructive cooperation between the embassy and the Ministry of Culture and other Vietnamese ministries in the best interest of the two countries and peoples.

“The participation of Vietnam in Expo Dubai 2020 will be a good opportunity for the Vietnamese companies to introduce themselves and showcase their products and technologies to the world from one place in Dubai,” said the ambassador.

He also described the expo as a platform to inform the UAE society and visitors about Vietnam, its traditions and the available investment opportunities and to explore investment opportunities in the UAE, as Vietnam enjoys tourist attractions and fascinating natural scenery that attract the UAE citizens.

In this regard, the ambassador indicated the embassy’s desire to increase the number of UAE tourists to Vietnam through more facilitations provided by the Vietnamese government through exempting Emiratis from pre-visa requirements to the country, similar to many neighbouring Asian countries.

The two sides expressed their happiness at the level of bilateral relations between the two countries in the light of directives by the leadership of the two countries. They also exchanged views on ways to increase coordination and cooperation in the cultural, tourist, and sports domains in the coming period.
